Project Description
Northeastern Illinois University is seeking bids from qualified contractors to furnish and install all necessary labor, material and equipment required to complete the project known as 2013 Parking Lot And Access Road Repairs, Project No. 00-6000-0213, for which the base bid includes pavement patching, curb and gutter removal and replacement, crack filling, seal coating, and pavement markings in Parking Lot “E”; crack filling, seal coating and pavement markings of Parking Lots “H” (North) and “J” (North); and pavement patching, crack filling, and pavement markings as needed of Parking Lots “H” (South) and “J” (South). Alternate No. 1 includes pavement patching, driveway apron removal and replacement, curb and gutter removal and replacement, manhole adjustment, crack filling and pavement markings as necessary on the Access Road. Alternate No. 2 includes crack filling, seal coating, pavement patching, driveway apron removal and replacement, manhole adjustment, and pavement markings in Parking Lot “A”; Alternate No. 3 includes pavement patching, manhole adjustment, curb and gutter removal and replacement, crack filling and pavement markings as necessary in Parking Lot “D”; This work includes hot-mix asphalt pavement removal, pavement patching, hot-mix asphalt paving, seal coating, crack filling, concrete curb and gutter removal and replacement, and thermoplastic and paint pavement markings. Structure adjustments as well as miscellaneous site restoration are also required. The Contractor will be required to maintain vehicle access to the University at all time.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on May 23, 2013 @ 10:00 A.M., in Student Union SU103.

Northeastern Illinois University strongly supports the participation of businesses owned by Minorities, Females and Persons with Disabilities (MAFBE) and has established a goal that 20% of its contracts be awarded to MAFBE owned businesses. The University desires participation either on a direct basis or through sub-contracting efforts. The Bidder must submit a Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Utilization Plan in accordance with Section 00315 of this bid document.
