Project Description:

Northeastern Illinois University is requesting bids from qualified contractors to furnish and install all necessary labor, material and equipment required to complete the project known as Classroom and Laboratory Renovation BBH 234, Bid No. 11-0234-0116 consisting of renovating an existing classroom and laboratory in Bernard Brommell Hall BBH 234, on the second floor, in the Organic Chemistry Department. The room is approximately 955 square feet. NEIU will perform all demolition services to space prior to construction and Pre-Bid Meeting. NEIU will also perform all Heating and Ventilation construction. Contractors to provide new flooring, new ceiling tile and grid, new casework, new countertops, new wall coverings, new whiteboards, new paint, new hazardous cabinets, new plumbing fixtures and faucets, new rough-in plumbing lines, new light fixtures, new power and data moldings and rough-in conduits/power as shown on drawings. Contractors will also be responsible for connecting power and piping to two existing fume hoods. Contractors shall be responsible to move and set the two existing fume hoods as well.

Separate Prime Contracts will be awarded for:

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 @ 10:00 AM in Student Union SU-214.

Bid Security:

General: 5% of the base bid.

Northeastern Illinois University strongly supports the participation of businesses owned by Minorities, Females and Persons with Disabilities (MAFBE) and has established a goal that 20% of the resultant contracts be awarded to Business Enterprise Program (BEP)/MAFBE owned businesses. The University desires participation either on a direct basis or through sub-contracting efforts. Bidders must submit a Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Utilization Plan in accordance with Section 004115 of the bid document.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all responses or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid documents. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all proposals, if applicable. This procurement may be contingent on Board of Trustees approval. This transaction is subject to the State Board of Elections registration and certification requirements of Public Act 095-0971.
