Project Description
Northeastern Illinois University is requesting bids from qualified electrical contractors to furnish and install all necessary labor, material and equipment required to complete the project known as Building 38 - New Central Utility Plant (CUP) Electrical Services Only Bid No. 38-0000-1213R-Elect consisting of a new central utility plant (CUP) to serve the southern part of the Main Campus to support future nearby buildings. The new central utility plant building will consist of chiller/cooling tower, standby natural gas powered electrical generators with hot water heating from the generator and medium voltage electrical distribution. In this initial phase, the standby electrical power will serve the new Education Building, limited loads in the P.E. Building and the existing Child Care Center. The hot water from the waste heat off the generator will serve the new Education Building. The CUP building will be sized to house mechanical and electrical equipment for this initial phase and have room for additional chillers, generators, and electrical distribution for buildings.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on July 16, 2015 @ 10:00 AM in Student Union SU-216.

Bid Security:

Electrical: 5% of the base bid.

Northeastern Illinois University strongly supports the participation of businesses owned by Minorities, Females and Persons with Disabilities (MAFBE) and has established a goal that 20% of the resultant contracts be awarded to Business Enterprise Program(BEP)/MAFBE owned businesses. The University desires participation either on a direct basis or through subcontracting efforts. Bidders must submit a Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Utilization Plan in accordance with Section 004115 of the bid document.
