Furnish and install all necessary labor, material and equipment required to complete the project known as CCICS South Face Facade Repairs, Project No. 61-7000-0410 at the Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies, 700 E. Oakwood, Chicago, IL, which includes the reconstruction of the south parapet wall and an approximately 11'-0" return on the east elevation with new steel, anchorage, and brick masonry per drawings. The work includes removal and re-installation of all terra cotta coping units and installation of one GFRC replacement coping unit. The brick of the parapet wall face is to match the existing cleaned brick. The parapet wall reconstruction will include 7 expansion joints, located per drawings. Roof flashing at the base of the parapet is to be integrated into the existing roofing. Brick masonry and steel repairs of the specified walls includes grinding and pointing brick masonry, coating of the existing concrete replacement sills, cleaning and painting all steel lintels and structural steel as exposed during masonry work, and installation of new flashings and weeps. The CCICS building will remain in use during the duration of the project. Roof protection, rigging plans, sit protection, and canopy plans are to be provided as part of the contract.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies, Conference Room 102.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all responses or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid documents. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all proposals. This procurement will be contingent on Board of Trustees approval.
