Northeastern Illinois University ("NEIU") is seeking bids from qualified firms to provide all necessary labor, material and equipment required to complete the project known as El Centro Annex Remodel ("Project"), Project No. 66-0000-0912.

This Project consists of exterior and interior remodeling of an existing 2100 square foot brick masonry Annex Building located at the new NEIU El Centro Site - Annex at 3410 North Avondale Avenue in Chicago, IL. Project scope includes, but is not limited to, masonry work, site work, new exterior door and windows, retrofit of existing doors, miscellaneous exterior demolition, repairs and modification, new interior build-out including modifications to plumbing, ventilation, fire prevention and electrical systems.

The El Centro Annex Remodel project is funded entirely by NEIU. This is not a State of Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB) project.

Separate Prime Contracts will be awarded for:

1. General Construction - Including responsibility as coordinating contractor
2. Plumbing
3. Heating
4. Ventilating
5. Electrical
6. Fire Suppression

BID SECURITY: 5% of the base bid amount.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM, in El Centro Annex Building located at 3410 North Avondale Avenue, Chicago, IL

NEIU strongly supports the participation of businesses owned by Minorities, Females and Persons with Disabilities ("MAFBE"). NEIU desires participation either on a direct basis or through sub-contracting efforts. NEIU has set a Business Enterprise ("BEP") Utilization Plan goal of 20% for this Project and bidders are required to submit a BEP Utilization Plan in accordance with Section 004115 of this bid document.
