for University Commons Rehabilitation Phases 3 & 4.
The successful bidder will provide all labor, material and equipment required to complete the project known as University Commons Rehabilitation Phases 3 & 4, Project No: 84-2000-0205. This is a phased construction project that requires early phases to be substantially complete before later phases can begin. General Work consists of removing existing asphalt pavement, concrete curb and gutter and concrete walkways, adjusting site drainage, miscellaneous earthwork to include providing select fill and adjusting grades, and providing concrete paving and curbs, asphalt paving, limestone walls and benches, an irrigation system, various hardscape improvements, a sodded lawn, and other site amenities that complement the existing campus landscaping and enhance its function as a pedestrian concourse, while still being able to function as a fire lane in the center of campus. Electrical Work consists of removing existing light poles and associated wiring, supplying and installing new light poles and fixtures and associated electrical distribution, control and protection systems.
A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting for General Work and Electrical Work will be held on 16 March 2005 @ 10:00am, in Student Union Room 217.
Bid security in the amount of $10,000 for the Electrical Trade work and $40,000 for the General Trade work is required.
Bid openings are scheduled on 23 March 2005 in the Bernard Office Building at 5555 N. Bernard at 9:45 am for the Electrical work and 10:00 am for the General work.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents. Contingent on Board of Trustees approval. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
