The Board of Trustees of Northeastern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the interior renovation for Faculty Development Center project (Bid # FDC120700).
The project known as Faculty Development Center, Project No. 12-0364-0700 consists of furnishing and installing all necessary labor, material and equipment as required to renovate approximately 2100 sq. ft. interior renovation of the Center in the northwest corner of the 3rd floor of the Ronald Williams Library. Work consists of interior alterations to the existing building to reconstruct interior walls, ceilings (including new lighting and ventilation), electrical and architectural finishes. Removal, storage and reinstallation of existing suspended acoustical panel ceiling components on the second floor will be required to facilitate the installation of telephone and data conduit systems. General demolition of the space has been completed under a separate contract. Construction barrier is in-place for use during construction, and to be removed by successful bidder at the completion of the project. Work includes construction of metal stud and veneer plaster partitions, hollow metal doorframes, borrowed lights, new wood doors, hardware, paint, carpet, resilient base, suspended acoustical panel ceiling and cork tack surface; reconstruct electrical service and ventilation system to accomodate alterations; drill existing structural concrete floor slab to furnish and install telephone and data devices; provide empty conduit system for telephone and data wiring to be performed by others; and furnish and install electrical power and communications systems to systems furniture and technology enhanced furniture furnished by the University.
Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked interior renovation for Faculty Development Center. Bids will be received up to the hour of 1:00 PM local time, on Wednesday, January 10, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. in the Training Room of Building H.
