The Board of Trustees of Northeastern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Fine Arts Lighting Enhancement project (Bid # R070141).

This project consists of furnishing and installing all necessary labor, material and equipment required to complete the project, Fine Arts Lighting Enhancements, Project No. 07-0141-0600. This project includes replacement of lighting for the Instrument Rehearsal Room and Dance Studio located in the University''s Fine Arts Building. Work involves removal of existing lighting systems and installation of the new lighting systems. The University requires that there be no interruption of class schedules. Therefore, all work must be completed during the Univrsity''s "off-hours": evenings after 10:00 p.m. and some Saturdays or during the semester break if the schedules permit. The base bid shall include all costs for overtime required to complete the work during the "off hours."

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Fine Arts Lighting Enhancement. Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 AM local time, on Thursday, March 8, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. in Building H, Training Room on NEIU''s campus.
