The Board of Trustees of Northeastern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the campus-wide chilled water system balancing -- revised due date again; non-mandatory meeting project.

The University is requesting bids for the above named project consisting of balancing the H Building centrifugal chiller water distribution system serving Buildings A, B, C, D, E, F, Fine Arts Center, Classroom Building, Science Building, Student Union, and Library Building in order to provide optimal operating and energy efficiency. Work includes testing and balancing to achieve flows within 10% of design values, including the placing and installing of cooling coil separation gate valves, "Circuit Setter" type cooling coil-balancing valves, and other new control devices required to provide balanced distribution. Interested vendors should call 773/442-5230 to request bid package.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked campus-wide chilled water system balancing -- revised due date again; non-mandatory meeting. Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 AM local time, on Thursday, July 19, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

There will not be a mandatory meeting.
