Public Higher Education Bulletin

The Board of Trustees of Northeastern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the EPDM removal and replacement of upper east roof of Building E project (Bid # R21370).

This project (No. 05-5000-0600) consists of the removal of approximately 11,400 sq.ft. of existing EPDM roofing membrance and insulation, metal facia and cants and replacement with new EPDM roofing membrance to match existing; new tapered insulation, new sumps at existing roof drains of a minimum 4 ft by 4 ft dimension; new flashings and counterflashings at all pitch pockets, roof top equipment and curbs; new cants and re-installing all existing facia. All work must be completed by September 21, 2001.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held (see below) in Building H - go to website: www.neiu.edu for University location and site map.

Bid documents will not be available until after Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at the Facilities Management Office in Building H. Contact Millie Roman at 773/442-5230 to obtain documents.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked EPDM removal and replacement of upper east roof of Building E. Bids will be received up to the hour of 1:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, July 17, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

• Bid security (see complete bid for details)
• A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
• All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

The mandatorypre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. in Building H, Training Room.
