Northeastern Illinois University awarded a contract for Fire Damage Restoration Services in the estimated amount of $1,000,000 on Friday, December 2, 2005 . The University intends to award contracts to Brouwer Brothers Steamatic and Set Environmental, Inc. for professional restoration and clean-up services required to re-open the Ronald Williams Library, which experienced a fire on Tuesday, November 29, 2005. Based on the projected work scope calculated at a time and material cost basis, the estimated total expense at this time is $1,000,000. This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which immediate action was needed to prevent any disruption in University services.
