Public Higher Education Bulletin

The Board of Trustees of Northeastern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Child Care Expansion project (Bid # RChildCareExp).

Furnish and install all necessary labor, material and equipment required to complete the construction of an addition to the existing Child Care Building, consisting of extending the pre-engineered building approximately 20 feet along the entire east side providing approximately 1200 additional gross square feet. Work includes reconfiguring of some interior rooms and casework, and completing related general construction, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical modifications.

The University will accept separate bids for each of the following trades: General, Heating, Ventilating, Plumbing, and Electrical. Bid documents will be available after Tuesday, Fbruary 13, 2001 from the Facilities Management Office, 773/442-5230.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Child Care Expansion. Bids will be received up to the hour of 1:00 PM local time, on Thursday, March 15, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

• Bid security (see complete bid for details)
• A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
• All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Tursday, February 27, 2001 at 10:00 am in the Facilities Management Building conference room.
