The Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the mini-storage demolition on the NIU campus project.

The University is removing mini-storage buildings located on Route 38 (Lincoln Highway). This is part of the ongoing construction of the new Convocation Center. Specifications and prints may be obtained by depositing $100 per set at one of the following locations. The deposit will be returned if all plans and specs are returned to the original pick up location within 20 days after the bid opening. Please call in advance to ensure plans and specs are available.

The bid opening will be held at 2 p.m. on February 5, 2002, at the Holmes Student Center Illinois Room. The physical bid should be in Procurement Services, Gilbert Hall B113, DeKalb, IL, by 1 p.m., February 5, 2002.

Addendum #1: Please call 815-753-6101 to obtain a copy of Addendum #1, which is available as of 1-28-02.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked mini-storage demolition on the NIU campus. Bids will be received up to the hour of 1:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, February 5, 2002. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

No pre-bid will be held, but it is highly recommended that the bidder visit the site before submitting a bid. All questions should be directed to Brad Booker at 815-753-7377.
