The Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the basement renovation for the Center for the Study of Family Violence and Sexual Assault building project.

This bid is to improve and renovate the existing open area of the basement level with new rooms as well as other various improvements throughout the existing interior of the building. One contract will be awarded to a vendor who will act as general contractor. This project is being funded under a federal grant. For questions regarding specifications, contact Ben Ritter at 815-753-6258. Plans will be available on Thursday, February 10, 2005, in NIU Procurement Services, Gilbert Hall B113, DeKalb, IL. There is a $50 required deposit per set, which is refundable after the return of plans. No cash please.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked basement renovation for the Center for the Study of Family Violence and Sexual Assault building. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, March 3, 2005. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
