The Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the the Student Recreation Center juice bar project.

One contract will be awarded to a vendor who will act as general contractor. For questions regarding specifications, contact Jeff Daurer at 815/753-5468.

Plans will be available on March 18, 2005, at B&H Industries. Call your local B&H for plans or go to, click on "Enter Planroom", then click on "Public Jobs", and then click on "Student Recreation Center Juice Bar" to view and order plans. If you have any questions in regards to receiving documents, call Brian Renton at B&H Industries, phone 815-397-8800.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Student Recreation Center Juice Bar. All bids must include a Bid Certification Form as contained in the bid documents.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Friday, April 8, 2005. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 2:00 PM local time at the Campus Recreation Center. Bidders are strongly advised to be present.
