The Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the parking lot 17 reconstruction project.

NIU is bidding out the entire reconstruction of the visitors' pay parking lot, which is located in the center of the DeKalb campus. For technical information, contact Jim Murphy at 815-753-1480. For bid information, contact Bill Welch at 815-753-6111. Bids may be picked up in Procurement Services, Gilbert Hall B113, DeKalb, IL. There will be no charge; however, bidders will be limited to 3 sets of specs and plans. The University requests that specs and plans be picked up in person in Procurement Services and that they call first (Gayle at 815-753-6101) to insure enough copies are on hand.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked parking lot 17 reconstruction. Bids will be received up to the hour of 1:45 PM local time, on Thursday, March 27, 2003. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A pre-bid and walk through will be held at the Physical Plant conference room on the NIU DeKalb campus on Thursday, March 20, 2003, at 1:15 p.m.
