The Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the glass and glazing for NIU Convocation Center project (Bid # 041601ww).

Copies of this bid and the attending plans may be obtained from B & H Industries, 1000 E. Central Road, Arlington Heights, IL, phone: 800-540-5048. A $100 refundable deposit will be required for the full set. For technical questions, contact Brad Booker from Turner Construction at 312-327-2856. The bids are due no later than 1:30 p.m. on April 16, 2001, at the Northern Illinois University Office of Procurement Services, Gilbert Hall B113, DeKalb, IL 60115. The bid opening will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center Room 303.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked glass and glazing for NIU Convocation Center. Bids will be received up to the hour of 1:30 PM local time, on Monday, April 16, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A pre-bid meeting will be held April 9, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center Room 303. It is strongly recommended that all bidders attend.
