Northern Illinois University awarded a contract for air charter services to Air Planning in the amount of $350,000 on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 . NIU requires an air charter for the football team on December 26 and 31, 2004, and for the marching band on December 28 and 31, 2004. This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which the need for services to protect or futher University interests was immediate and use of other competitve source selection procedures under the Illinois Procurement Code could not have been accomplished without significant risk of causing disadvantages to the University.
