In the original agreement, the vendor retained website control and controlling interest over advertising rights. This amendment is for a "buy out" of the advertising component from the vendor, and to allow NIU Athletics to obtain all advertising rights and website control, to increase advertising inventory to sell and to figure into corporate sponsor packages, and to fully maximize the revenue-producing potential of the website with no limitations in advertising revenues, retaining 100% of ad revenue and corporate-sponsor web-related revenue.
The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.

The University awarded a contract for custom website & online subscription broadcasting to CSTV Online Inc., Chicago, IL for $55,000.
This includes custom website production, maintenance, and online subscription-service web-broadcasting of NIU Athletic activities and events. It includes proprietary features such as exclusive website services partnering rights for NIU Athletics; exclusive national advertising sales rights on the website; exclusive internet (and via wireless devices) broadcast distribution and audio-visual feed rights of NIU Athletic events; and exclusive select marketing and promotional rights.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the vendor also features unique and unparalleled content-archiving capabilities and services; custom editorial, technical, e-commerce and creative-support-resources services; and designed and utilizes Netitor, its own proprietary, trademarked, secure website-content-management software designed exclusively to provide on-line solutions for sports-information professionals and college and university athletic departments. is the most trafficked college-sports website service provider, and its network of 250 official athletic sites for top colleges and universities is the number one online source for college sports broadband content, news, information, scores and analysis, and e-commerce -- generating more than 6.5 million unique users. CSTV's ownership of College Sports Television can also provide NIU with more exposure for primary sports as well as Olympic sports. CSTV's website will link directly to bringing greater exposure. CSTV can also offer NIU a custom interface (via their "Gametracker" application) to link directly to other official athletic websites for live statistics and other up-to-the-minute partner-website sports information. Furthermore, out of other sports-media website service providers, CSTV has been in business longer and has the most experience, they have trained tech staff in close geographic proximity to the University, they offer more tutorial and training, they are more realistic with their subscription and e-commerce revenue projections, and more of the MAC schools (7 plus the conference site) are currently CSTV partners thus creating an advantageous synergy for NIU and it's MAC peers. Therefore, this acquisition is economically feasible and procurable from only one source.
