The University awarded a contract for Proton sensors.
This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which
immediate action was warranted to avoid the lapse or loss of federal or donated funds.
This Emergency Purchase is for the procurement of highly specialized scientific phantom-object image capturing sensors for use in the development of a prototype Proton Computer Tomography (pCT) scanner as a proton research initiative on a Department of Defense grant. Because extensive testing research was required to determine the optimal sensors needed for the construction of this prototype (sensors which are available from this vendor), we now have need to procure these sensors immediately due to the Department of Defense deadlines required for research completion on this grant.
