Project Description
Bids are requested from qualified contractors for the redevelopment of the existing 13-story residential building known as Grant Tower “C” on the DeKalb Campus at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.

Work shall include interior demolition and reconstruction including all necessary general trades, mechanical (HVAC and plumbing), electrical, fire protection, security and information technology work to fully and completely redevelop the existing building. Work shall include all labor, materials, supervision and appurtenances necessary to fully and properly complete the construction.

The Owner will be performing some work under separate contract(s) and all contractors are required to fully co-operate with the Owner’s independent contractor(s) for the duration of the work.

In accordance with the Illinois Procurement Act, this project will be bid as multiple prime contracts with the Owner’s option to assign all trades to the qualified general contractor.

Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting/Site Visit
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 9:00 AM local time in Grant Residential Tower "C" Formal Lounge on January 26, 2010. Bidders who fail to attend the pre-bid meeting and visit the site will not be allowed to bid on this project. All bidders must sign in and indicate the site visit on the bid form.
