Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking bids for a fully automated flame/graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometer system. The system must meet the following specifications:- Flame: AA
- Operation: Spectrophotometer capable of analyzing inorganic concentrations in aqueous solutions
- Optics: True double-beam, all reflective optics, fully sealed and mirrors quartz over coated to prevent corrosion
- Background correction: Must utilize deuterium background correction. Source lamp must be easily adjusted or replaced, and correct to 2.3 Abs of background
- Slits: Fully automated
- Wavelength drive: Computer controlled, fast lamp selection using a movable mirror
- Wavelength range: 185-900 nm
- Lamp mounting: Minimum of (4) lamp positions w/automatic warm-up of next lamp in run sequence
- Gas Control: Must be computer controlled and fully automated
- Flame safety system: Minimum of (8) safety interlocks to monitor burner type, correct burner fit, liquid trap, pressure relief bung, flame shield, flame operation, mains power, and oxidant pressure within safety reservoir
- Burner heads: Must provide both Air / Acetylene and Nitrous Oxide/ Acetylene burner heads
- Graphite Furnace requirements: Up to 20 temperature steps per program
- Maximum heating rate of 2000 degrees C per second from 40 to 3000 degree C
- Selection of two atomizations gases, with flows from 0-3.1 L/min. in 0.1 L/ min. increments
- Titanium work-head for maximum corrosion resistance
- Equipped with safety interlocks
An award will be made to the lowest bidder meeting specifications and conditions.
The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof.
Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents.

Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
