for an 8 passenger minivan (Bid # C04-56017-0013M). Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking bids for one new Model year 2003 or newer 8-passenger rear wheel drive minivan, Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, GMC or University approved equal, to include all equipment advertised as standard, and to meet the following minimum specifications:

  • Air Conditioning, factory installed
  • Alternator, 105 amp minimum
  • Battery, Heavy duty 600 CCA
  • Power Brakes, front and rear disc, w/front anti-lock
  • 4-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive
  • Tilt steering and cruise control
  • Engine V-6, 4.3 liter minimum
  • Deep tinted glass side and rear windows
  • Dual power LH and RH outside mirrors
  • AM/FM radio w/CD
  • Power windows and locks
  • Daytime running lights
  • Dual front air bags, seatbelts for all passengers
  • Seats: Front bucket, (2) 3-passenger rear bench seats
  • Tires: P215/70R 16 BSW, w/limited use spare
  • Intermittent wipers front, w/rear window wiper/defroster
  • All necessary and applicable shop service manuals
  • Exterior color: Maroon or white
  • Interior color: Graphite or natural
The University offers for trade-in consideration, the following:
  • One 1990 GMC Minivan
  • One 1990 Chevrolet Cavalier wagon
  • One 1972 Chevrolet Suburban
  • One 1996 Chevrolet full size pickup truck
Trade-in vehicles may be inspected on Thursday July 31, 2003 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the SIUC Travel Service office.

An award will be made to the lowest bidder meeting specifications and conditions.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents. Bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
