Southern Illinois University Carbondale wishes to establish a Planned Purchase Order for approximately 225 short tons (per year) of newsprint. The newsprint will be purchased per releases at various times throughout the year.
All newsprint is to be white, 40" diameter rolls on 3" cores, with the width to be 34", and 16.75". The newsprint being quoted must be a minimum of 20%, but less than 100%, recycled content. All shipments for the duration of the agreement must be of the same manufacture, and of first grade mill quality. Shipments must be free of manufacturing, storage or age related defects. The paper being quoted must be of U.S. or Canadian manufacture.
Prospective bidders must quote the following newsprint: 30# stock, and 27# - 28# light weight stock.
The successful bid will result in an agreement for the period July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002 with the University having the sole option for 4 additional 1-year renewals, beginning July 1, 2002, contingent upon availability of funds, University need, and satisfactory performance by the successful bidder. Renewals will be based upon the same terms, conditions, and pricing structures as the original agreement.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest overall bidder meeting specifications and conditions.
The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Contingent on Board of Trustees approval.Bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office.Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
