for a transform infrared spectrometer (Bid # C23330-0011M). Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking bids on one transform infrared spectrometer to meet the following specifications:

  • Mid-IR Spectrometer with sealed and desiccated optics for lab analysis and applications
  • Fast PC based data system and analytical software package
  • Spectral range: 7,500-370 cm-1, option: 15,500-370 cm-1
  • Resolution: Better than 0.6 cm-1, option 0.3 cm-1
  • Wave number accuracy: Better than 0.01 cm-1
  • Photometric accuracy: 0.1% T
  • Signal to noise: 6,000: 1 p/p using 5 scans for background and 5 scans for sample scan at 4 cm1 optical resolution with triangle apodization
  • Background and sample measurements must be performed using a DTGS detector at a scan speed to complete measurement in 5 seconds or less
  • Optical System: flexible and compact, sealed and desiccated bench, purgeable and interchangeable optical components w/automatic accessory identification and integrated validation features
  • PC System: Intel PIII-700 minitower, 3 ISA slots, 128MB RAM, 20GB HD, 48X IDE CD ROM, 8MB AGP Video card, standard keyboard and mouse, 15" monitor
  • NIR Souce with Quick Switch mount
  • Change of spectral range: 10,000-400 cm-1, consisting of T304/3GE/KBr broadband beamsplitter
  • Pike VeeMAX II variable angle specular reflectance accessory with quicklock baseplate
  • MCT detector, bradband, liquid N2 cooled, range 12,000-420 cm-1, D*>5x10***g cm Hz1/2W, hold time 8h
  • MIR polarizer (BaF2), 25 mm diameter
A contract will be awarded to the lowest bidder meeting specifications and conditions.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents. Contingent on Board of Trustees approval. Bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
