The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the installation of an automatic sprinkler system project (Bid # C422M).
The University is seeking bids for a certified contractor to provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the installation of an automatic sprinkler system in Mae Smith Hall on campus.
The project scope includes installation of a new pre-action dry sprinkler system for the dorm rooms, corridors, and common living spaces, and also consists of removal and replacement of the existing fire pump. Included is an upgrade and integration of the existing fire alarm system into the new sprinkler system, as well as, a new lay-in ceiling for the first floor and new pipe covering and chases as required by sprinkler piping.
An award will be made to the lowest bidder meeting specifications and conditions.
Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked installation of an automatic sprinkler system. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held January 31, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. CST in the SIUC Physical Plant lunchroom. All contractors wishing to submit a bid must be present.
