The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the roof renovation on Steagall Hall project (Bid # E-13375-0087M).

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is accepting bids to furnish labor, materials and equipment to remove and dispose of existing single ply membrane, existing built-up roof, insulation, fascia, cants, and other miscellaneous items indicated in the bid documents.

The project basically includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the removal of membrane roofing, built-up roofing insulation to deck, all loose gravel and other debris. Installing base sheet, rigid insulation, tapered insulation, single-ply EPDM membrane, all necessary flashing and sheetmetal treated blocking, anchors, etc. for weather tight installation.

A contract will be issued to the contractor submitting the lowest proposal, which meets the intent of the bid documents.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Monday, March 24, 2003. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A pre-bid meeting to dicuss this project will be held on March 12, 2003 at 2 p.m. CST at the Project Site (Steagall Hall), which is located in Thompson Point.
