The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the infirmary at Touch of Nature project (Bid # E-13375-6644M).

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is excepting bids for the construction of an infirmary at Touch of Nature. General contractors are requested to submit bids to furnish all labor, material and equipment for the construction of the Touch of Nature infirmary. Work shall include all general, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work.

The work under the contract includes, but shall not necessarily be limited to the construction of the building and site as indicated on the drawings and specifications.

A contract will be issued to the contractor submitting the lowest proposal which meets the intent of these specifications.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, April 10, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A pre-bid meeting to discuss this project will be held on April 2, 2001, at 10 a.m. CST in the Plant Service Operations Conference Rooom.
