The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the concrete terrace project.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking bids to furnish labor, materials and equipment to construct a concrete terrace adjacent to the Applied Science and Arts Building on the Carbondale campus.

The project basically includes, but is not necessarily limited to site grading, storm drainage, poured in place concrete, pre-cast concrete, metal grating, stainless steel imbedding, brick pavers and granite cladding.

It is strongly recommended that the contractor visit the site and become thoroughly familiar with all existing conditions.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, May 8, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A pre-bid meeting to discuss this project will be held on May 1, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at the College of Applied Science & Arts Conference Room #127.
