Project Description
The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University hereby requests letters of interest from Architects/Engineers to provide professional services for the following University project:

Project Name: Lingle Hall Addition
Project Budget: $3,000,000


Description of Project
The Intercollegiate Athletics Department at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale has developed a project to construct an addition to Lingle Hall. Lingle Hall was constructed in 1964 and contains approximately 23,400 net square feet. The facility currently houses Athletic offices, locker, training, and laundry rooms, and some limited classroom space.

The project will construct approximately 10,000 square foot addition containing study areas for student athletes as well as expanded weight room facilities. In addition, the project will provide some cosmetic improvements for the interior of the existing portion of Lingle Hall such as painting, new flooring etc.

Design Budget: $300,000
Construction Budget: $2,700,000


Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:
  • Licensed to practice as an architect/engineer in the State of Illinois
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB)
The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the Consulting firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Prior firm experience with similar projects
  • Appropriate staff size and disciplines
  • Prior performance of firm and its consultants with completed projects at Southern Illinois University and with other State Higher Educational Institutions
Consulting firms should submit 6 copies of their letter of interest, documentation of qualifications, and current CDB Form 255, by Tuesday, June 3, 2003, addressed to:
