The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the furnishing and installing cantilever gates project.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale will be accepting bids to furnish all labor, material and equipment to provide all General Work for the installation of cantilever gates at Schneider Hall and Mae Smith Hall circle drives. All work shall be done as called for and noted on drawings and specifications titled "Schneider and Mae Smith Hall Gates at Circle Drives," dated August 22, 2003 as supplied by Physical Plant Engineering Services.

The work under this request includes, but shall not be limited to, grading of the existing site for gate and landscaping installation, fabrication and installation of four double cantilever gates and all other general work associated with the installation of cantilever gates. The purchase and installation of seed, mulch and plants will not be included in this request.

Bid bond, indemnity bond and proof of appropriate insurance are required. Prevailing wage for Jackson County applies.

An award will be issued to the vendor submitting the lowest proposal, which meets the intent of the bid documents.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, October 21, 2003. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
