The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Southern Illinois Research Park project.

Southern Illinois University, on behalf of the Southern Illinois Research Park, is soliciting bids to furnish all labor, material and equipment to provide all site work for the construction of a new single level 19,920 sq. ft. multi-tenant office building at the Southern Illinois Research Park located at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL.

Bids shall be held firm for a period of 60 calendar days from the date of receipt.

A bid security in a dollar amount equal to 5% of the bid submitted shall accompany each bid in accordance with the bid documents. A performance bond and payment bond will be required in the amount equal to 100% of the accepted bid from the successful contractor within ten calendar days from the date of the notice of award. The Southern Illinois Research Park (SIRP) reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any technicalities or informalities in the bid process and to award in such a manner as is deemed to best serve the interests of the SIRP.

A conditional or qualified bid will not be accepted. Faxed bids will not be accepted.

A contract will be issued to the contractor submitting the lowest responsive proposal that meets the intent of the bid documents.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, February 15, 2005. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A pre-bid conference is scheduled for this project on February 3, 2005 at 10:00 a.m.CST in the lunchroom at Plant and Service Operations, 210 Physical Plant Drive, Carbondale.Attendance at this pre-bid conference is strongly recommended.
