Project Description
The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University hereby requests letters of interest from eEngineers to provide professional services for the following University project:
Project Name
Professional Service Retainer Contract for Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Consulting
Description of Project
Engineers are to provide professional services on an open-ended basis for a one year period with the University having the option to renew the contract for four additional one-year periods. An annual review of the engineer''''s standard fee schedule will be made, prior to the renewal of the professional services agreement. There would not be any guarantee of work assigned. Services would be performed on an as needed basis during the contract period. The use of consulting services, under the professional service retainer contract will be limited to projects under $500,000 and to where an individual A/E discipline contract is less than $25,000 for any one project. The following are some, but not all of the typical services that could be required by the professional engineer selected. Mechanical: HVAC and temperature control systems; Plumbing systems; steam and chilled water piping generation and distribution systems; Fire protection/sprinkler systems; and fume hoods and exhaust systems. The use of consulting services under the professional service retainer contract will be limited to projects under $500,000 and to where an individual A/E discipline contract is less than $25,000 for any one project.
Contract "not to exceed" annual maximum: $300,000
Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:
- Licensed to practice as an architect/engineer in the State of Illinois
- Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board
The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the Consulting firms requesting consideration for selection:
- Prior firm experience with similar projects
- Appropriate staff size and disciplines
- Prior performance of firm and its consultants with completed projects at Southern Illinois University and with other State Higher Educational Institutions
Consulting firms should submit 6 copies of their letter of interest and current 255 form by May 30, 2003 addressed to:
