The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the mechanical/piping work project.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is in the design and construction stages of an aerobic digester for the treatment of swine waste. This request is for the piping and mechanical work for the installation of the aerobic thermophilic system at the Brazinski Pork Farm in Coulterville, IL.

Bids for the scrubber/biofilter and/or FRP digester have been requested. The Aerobic Thermophilic system shall be fabricated and installed in full conformity with drawings, specifications, engineering data, instructions and recommendations provided by SIUC personnel, unless exceptions are noted.

The project will be bid with two options. An award will be issued for one of the options, to the contractor submitting the lowest proposal, which meets the intent of the bid documents.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, October 14, 2004. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A pre-bid meeting to discuss this project will be held on October 4, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. CDST in the Purchasing Office Conference Room at 108 Miles Hall, 2nd floor. Attendance is highly recommended.
