The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University hereby requests letters of interest from Architects to provide professional services for the following University project:

Project Name:Repair/Replace Roof System On Various Campus Buildings (FY2003 Capital Renewal)

Description of Project:This project will repair/replace various roof systems on the following campus facilities: Life Science II (4th floor) roof, Pulliam Hall Gymnasium roof, and Anthony Hall canopies. These roofs range from 20 to 30 years old and are generally ballasted membranes. This project will include the repair or removal of the existing roof system and the installation of a new tapered insulation, additional roof drains, and a single-ply membrane or other roof system as appropriate.

  • Project Budget:$28,500
  • Construction Budget: $284,000
Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:
  • Licensed to practice as an Architect/Engineer in the State of Illinois
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board
The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the Consulting firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Prior firm experience with similar projects
  • Appropriate staff size and disciplines
  • Prior performance of firm and its consultants with completed projects at Southern Illinois University and with other State Higher Educational Institutions
Consulting firms should submit 6 copies of their letter of interest and current 255 form by, December 16, 2002, addressed to:
