Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking an exemption to acquire broadcast licenses and assets from West Central Illinois Educational Telecommunications Corporation.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for programming and broadcast license rights for university-operated radio and television stations(30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(7)) This exemption allows Southern Illinois University Carbondale to purchase from West Central Illinois Educational Television Corporation certain educational broadcast licenses and transmission equipment to be operated by the SIU Broadcasting Service.
