The University awarded a contract for a HAACP/Biosecurity Model development and workshop to HDR Engineering, Inc., Omaha, NE, for $40,000.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
vendor is an integrated environmental engineering firm specializing in aquaculture-related infrastructure and compliance concerns. They have extensive experience in the drafting and implementation of biosecurity/HACCP plans and the creation of media to train/educate a wide-range of experience levels. Furthermore, they are intimately aware of the nature of the aquaculture industry in Illinois and the surrounding areas, which will be critical in ensuring that the biosecurity plans and strategies developed are applicable to Illinois aqua farmers.
