The University awarded a contract for an Online Course Management System to Blackboard, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, for $77,600.
The purpose of this purchase is to provide an online course management system that will allow instructors to manage and present course content and track student activity and their progress. Southern Illinois University of Carbondale has over 1,500 active courses each semester that use this system, serving over 20,000 students.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
item or service is copyrighted or patented and is not available except from the holder of the copyright or patent.
