Due to the SIUC Faculty Association strike, there could possibly be delays in the delivery of bids since some delivery services are honoring the pickets. Bidders remain responsible for insuring that bids are received in the Procurement Services office by the opening date and time of November 8, 2011 at 2PM CST.

Project Description
Southern Illinois University is seeking bids from qualified vendors to furnish all material, labor and equipment necessary for the asbestos abatement and demolition of the Cooling Tower, located on the roof of the Communications Building on the campus of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. The work shall be done in accordance with the plans and specifications entitled “Communications Building, Cooling Tower Abatement” dated 10/13/2011.

These two projects may be awarded to the same vendor; however, they will be under separate contracts. SIUC Project Labor Agreement and General Conditions shall apply to this project.
Sealed bids will be accepted at the address below until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 8, 2011:

A highly recommended pre-bid conference is scheduled for this project at the Plant and Service Operations break room on the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus on October 25, 2011, at 10:00a.m. Attendance at this pre-bid conference is strongly encouraged. The Physical Plant Break Room is located at 210 Physical Plant Drive, Carbondale, IL. All questions are due in writing to the A/E technical contact on or before 4:00p.m., October 27, 2011.

Also, you must obtain the drawings and project manual by contacting Southern Illinois University Carbondale Procurement Services.
