Project Description
Southern Illinois University is accepting bids to furnish all material, labor, and equipment necessary to install a fire protection and pipe covering system in each of Abbott, Bailey, and Smith Halls located in the Thompson Point complex and in University Hall located at 1101 S. Wall Street. Thompson Point and University Hall are student housing complexes located on the campus of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. Other building work entails modification of the existing fire alarm systems, additions to the existing access control system at University Hall and door hardware change out at both Thompson Point and University Hall. Site work includes extending existing domestic and fire water sources to each building.

Sealed bids will be accepted at the address below until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 10, 2009:

A highly recommended pre-bid conference is scheduled for this project at the Plant and Service Operations break room on the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus on November 2, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., CST. Attendance at this pre-bid conference is strongly encouraged and will be the only opportunity to view the existing buildings prior to bid opening. Photography of individual dorm rooms in Abbott, Bailey, Smith, and University Halls will not be allowed.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all responses or parts thereof. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bids. This procurement will be contingent on Board of Trustees approval.
