The majority of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems across campus are original to the buildings and are no longer operating at desired potential. Most systems are connected to the central campus steam and chilled water loop and have become inadequate due to program growth, scientific advances and increased importance of laboratory experience for general education. The temperature and humidity level within the buildings is not adequately controlled. As systems are repaired, building automation will be implemented to improve the environmental controls.
