The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University governing Southern Illinois University Edwardsville hereby requests sealed bids to furnish all labor, equipment, tools, and material required to remove and replace carpet and vinyl base tile in various rooms of the Supporting Services Bldg., Founders Hall, Alumni Hall, Dunham Hall, Lovejoy Library, Rendleman Hall, and the Science Building.
A mandatory pre-bid conference for all those interested in bidding the project will be held on April 9, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in the Supporting Services Building. Representatives of the University will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are required to attend. All representatives must be in the conference room of the Supporting Services by 10:10 and must stay for the entire meeting and site visit. All contractors are required to sign in and sign out after site visit. If contractor is late or leaves before the completion of the meeting or site visit, the contractor will not be considered attending the pre-bid conference.
All questions must be faxed or e-mailed to Craig McIntosh, 618-650-3251/cmcinto@siue.edu, by April 15, 2009, 12:00 p.m. Questions submitted after this date may not receive a response. Questions should not be addressed to any other SIUE representative. If contact of any kind occurs with any other representative, this will be grounds for disqualification.
The successful bidder will be required to comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings or enactments of any governmental authority which are applicable to the work or to the project. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wages and shall utilize equal employment opportunity hiring practices in connection with this project. The University reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all responses or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid documents. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all proposals. This procurement will be contingent on Board of Trustees approval. Solicitation documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office.

This transaction is subject to the State Board of Elections registration and certification requirements of Public Act 095-0971.
