The University awarded a contract for rental of one M112 Eimco Horizontal Belt Vacuum.
The rental of one M112 Eimco Horizontal Belt Vacuum Filter System from FLSmidth USA Inc., to be used during an upcoming client trial scheduled to start in February. The unit, currently onsite, was previously rented by the client.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Due to numerous issues with trying to obtain replacement parts and consumables needed to operate the VBF, NCERC chose to deal direct with FLSmidth.
