The University is seeking proposals for a competency-based learning management system for a Round 4 U.S. Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant for the “Building Illinois Bioeconomy” (BIB) consortium, which consists of four community colleges and one public University across the state of Illinois. As the lead institution in the BIB consortium, SIUE will be soliciting and evaluating proposals from companies offering competency-based learning platforms and qualified to provide technology and services in this area for a grant performance period ending September 30, 2017.
Specifically, BIB is seeking a competency-based platform that enables educators to prove a course, lesson, or individual test question directly equates with industry competencies. The selected platform will include several key features designed to accelerate student progress and remove barriers for trade-impacted workers, veterans, and other traditional and nontraditional student populations. Key features needed for consideration include: ability to import O*NET competencies and link them to specific academic assessments, rolling enrollment/adaptive study support, weighted competencies, course-development and assessment building functionality, user-friendly interface.
