The Board of Trustees of the Southern Illinois University governing Southern Illinois University Edwardsville hereby requests sealed bids to furnish all labor, equipment, tools and materials to renovate existing storage room into teaching classroom for use with electronic teaching table at the School of Dental Medicine, Alton campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Bids will be received from 2016 SIUE prequalified general contractors.

Project includes addition of new ceiling and soffits, new wall surfaces, new flooring and removal/infill of a window for a fresh aid louver. Project includes new lighting, power and data infrastructure for teaching table. Infrastructure includes data connections with new furniture but also video connections from the teaching table to video monitors and project. Project includes new D-X mechanical system with a new blower coil, aid cooled condensing unit, fresh air louver and associated ductwork.
A mandatory pre-bid conference, for all those interested in bidding the project, will be held on July 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Roller Hall in the Dental Clinic Bldg. at 2800 College Avenue, Alton, IL. Representatives of the University and BRiC Partnership will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are required to attend. All representatives must be in Roller Hall by 10:10 and must stay for the entire meeting and site visit. All contractors are required to sign in and sign out after site visit. If contractor is late or leaves before the completion of the meeting or site visit, the contractor will not be considered attending the pre-bid conference. This will be the only site visit. Subcontractors are encouraged to attend.

Answers to all questions will be addressed in the form of an addendum and will be posted on the Illinois Higher Education Procurement Bulletin website, www.procure.stateuniv.state.il.us. Questions should not be addressed to any other SIUE or a BRiC Partnership representative. If contact of any kind occurs with any other representative, this will be grounds for disqualification.
Bidders who have not completed and returned their prequalification statement which is valid for the period January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016, will be required to prequalify in accordance with the bidding contract provision - Document PQ00250 Prequalification Documents. Firms may verify their prequalification status by contacting Shelly at (618) 650-3265. The prequalification document will be due at the SIUE Purchasing Office a minimum of three days prior to the bid opening. Bids will not be accepted from Contractors who have not submitted and received approval of the SIUE Prequalification Statement. The 2016 SIUE Prequalification Documents may be downloaded on the Bulletin under RFI 2016SIUEPrequal.
The successful bidder will be required to comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings or enactments of any governmental authority which are applicable to the work or to the project. The successful bidder shall pay current prevailing wage rates as posted on the Illinois Department of Labor's website and shall utilize equal employment opportunity hiring practices in connection with this project. The University reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
