for design, construct, and operate a Golf Learning Center on University-owned land of SIUE.
The purpose of the Golf Learning Center is to provide a hub for learning and development of the sport of golf in the metro area, and to form a partnership with the University in researching and developing management practices for an ecologically sound Golf Learning Center. In addition to providing educational, recreational, and competitive playing opportunities to SIUE, the Golf Learning Center is envisioned to serve the golf learning needs of the region as well.
The University has determined that an 80 acre site, located north of the central campus, commonly referred to as the MRF (Mississippi River Festival) site, is the only viable location for the construction and development of the proposed Golf Learning Center. A map of the area will be included with the RFP package. This location is the only option acceptable to the University.
A mandatory pre-proposal conference consisting of a facilities tour and a question and answer session in the Supporting Services Building will be held at 10:00 a.m. CDT on August 21, 2003.
