Project Description
The Morris University Center expansion and renovation is a project that includes providing for an addition of approximately 58,000 gsf to the University Center for a Student Academic Success Center, an addition of approximately 10,000 gsf to the Morris University Center for new Textbook Rental space, and a renovation of approximately 9,000 gsf in the University Center Bookstore. The initial work of the architect/engineer will be to design the Student Academic Success Center in accordance with existing program goals, and to develop a Feasibility Study for the Bookstore renovation and the Textbook Services expansion to include program development, preliminary renderings and floor plans, and preliminary project cost estimates.

The following related criteria will be among those used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection: CDB pre-qualification status, location of firm, prior experience with similar projects, appropriate staff size and disciplines, prior performance of the firm and/or its consultants with completed projects at SIUE, and current workload.
Proposals should include a complete description of the history, size, and capabilities of your firm, and a list of projects which demonstrate your experience with the kind of work SIUE expects to undertake. For each project, indicate a knowledgeable reference (name, address and telephone number). A copy of the CDB 255 Form and the Notification of Pre-qualification letter for each firm and its consultants is required.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered:
  • Submitted 7 copies of their qualifications.
  • Licensed to practice as an architect, landscape architect, or engineer in the State of Illinois.
  • Pre-qualified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
Selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
