Project Description
This project seeks architect services to develop schematic plans and cost estimates for the renovation of and expansion to the Early Childhood Center on the Edwardsville campus. The working estimate for this project is $2 million. The existing facility was built in 1988 and is approximately 5,500 sf. This project will remodel approximately 1,000 sf of the existing classroom, office, and support space, and provide an additional 6,000 sf expansion to the facility for classrooms and supporting space.

The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University governing Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) hereby requests letters of interest and statements of qualifications from architect firms interested in providing professional consulting services for the Early Childhood Center Renovation and Expansion Project located on the Edwardsville campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Firms interested in providing such services should submit a team that is able to provide architectural and engineering services, and be pre-qualified with the Illinois Capital Development Board in all of the architectural/engineering disciplines.
The following related criteria will be among those used to evaluate the firms and/or teams requesting consideration for selection: location of firm, prior experience with similar projects, staff size, related State experience, team structure, current workload, and history of accurate cost information.
Please submit 6 copies of a letter of interest and statement of qualifications to Mr. Richard Walker, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administration, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Campus Box 1158, Edwardsville, IL 62026-1158 or delivered to Rendleman Hall, Room 2228. There should be no communication with University staff, faculty, or students other than through Rich Walker at (618) 650-2536 or rwalker@siue.edu.
Proposals should include a complete description of the history, size and capabilities of the submitting firm and a list of projects which demonstrate the firm's level of experience. For each project indicate a knowledgeable reference (name, address and telephone number). As a part of the submission, please include a copy of the firm's CDB Pre-qualification Certificate as well as a copy of the firm's CDB 255 form. Qualifications and supporting materials will be accepted until 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2007.

  • Submitted 6 copies of their qualifications.
  • Licensed to practice as an architect, landscape architect, or engineer in the State of Illinois.
  • Pre-qualified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
Selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
