Project Description
The Board of Trustees of the Southern Illinois University governing Southern Illinois University Edwardsville hereby requests sealed bids to furnish all labor, equipment, tools and materials to remove and replace floating cover over #1 digester with a new truss type floating cover at the Waste Water Treatment Plant on the Edwardsville campus of SIUE. The old cover will be disposed of by the successful bidder. Work includes replacing gas recirculation piping which consists of six (6) – 1’ lines and diffusers.
Sealed bids will be accepted at the address below until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 8, 2011:

Bidders who have not completed and returned their pre-qualification statement which is valid for the period January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011 or January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010, will be required to pre-qualify in accordance with the bidding contract provision - Pre-qualification Documents. Firms may verify their pre-qualification status by contacting Shelly at (618) 650-3265. The pre-qualification document will be due at the SIUE Purchasing Office a minimum of three days prior to the bid opening. Bids will not be accepted from Contractors who have not submitted and received approval of the SIUE Pre-qualification Statement.
A mandatory pre-bid conference for all those interested in bidding the project will be held on January 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Supporting Services Building. Representatives of the University will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are required to attend. All representatives must be in the conference room of the Supporting Services by 10:10 and must stay for the entire meeting and site visit. All contractors are required to sign in and sign out after site visit. If contractor is late or leaves before the completion of the meeting or site visit, the contractor will not be considered attending the pre-bid conference.
All questions must be e-mailed to Shelly Albert, malbert@siue.edu, by January 24, 2011, 12:00 p.m. Questions submitted after this date may not receive a response. Answers to all questions will be addressed in the form of an addendum and will be sent to all plan holders and plan houses. Questions should not be addressed to any other SIUE representative. If contact of any kind occurs with any other representative, this will be grounds for disqualification.
The successful bidder will be required to comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings or enactments of any governmental authority which are applicable to the work or to the project. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wages and shall utilize equal employment opportunity hiring practices in connection with this project. The University reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
