The University
awarded
a contract for
hearing aids and accessories
to
Phonak Inc
for
an estimated $100,000.
These analogue hearing aids are usually the best fit for children. They are extremely durable, can be readjusted if the hearing loss changes or as more information is obtained about a child's hearing loss, and have excellent output limiting which protects a child from outside sounds that are too loud. In addition, they have a wide power range in a small casin; therefore, even severly hearing impaired children can be fit in a size that their ear can support.
